🌺 Today we celebrate Pascua Florida Day and the story behind Florida’s name! On April 2, 1513, Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León arrived on Florida’s shores during the Easter season, known in Spanish as “Pascua Florida,” meaning Feast of Flowers. Inspired by the lush landscape and the holiday, he named the land La Florida — a name that has lasted for more than 500 years. A reminder that Florida’s history is as vibrant as the state itself. 🌴 Happy Pascua Florida Day!
