We've updated the IMU release schedule on immunefi.foundation, and we're posting the before and after here for context. We have *significantly* reduced the amount of IMU supply going out into the market. We'll be updating the graph about once a quarter.

The IMU Loyalty Bonus Program has officially ended. Eligible participants who held their full $IMU allocation from Jan 22 to Mar 3 will receive a 10% bonus automatically distributed to their wallets on Friday, Mar 6. No action needed. IMU Token Unlock Event: What Happened and What's Next We mentioned we'd write a follow-up on the IMU token unlock event that occurred on Jan 22, 2026. Here's what happened. What Happened On January 22nd, the pre-sale IMU token unlock event happened using our vendor Magna. Magna’s been a popular choice in the crypto space for managing token unlocks, but the high volume of IMU token holders overwhelmed their servers. With thousands of people all connecting at the same time, the token claim functions slowed down or stopped functioning. The Magna platform went down for all of their users, not just IMU holders. This was a frustrating experience for us at the Immunefi Foundation, the team at Immunefi.com (who are all token holders), our partners (who are token holders) and the thousands of people who are supporters of the IMU token worldwide. Why It Happened The Ethereum network is perfectly resilient, and the smart contracts worked as designed. The failure was not on the network side, but rather on the user interface side with Magna. Per Magna’s postmortem that they’ve provided us with: the root cause was technical. The volume and concurrency of requests, not just the number of users (over 7000), but the density of operations each session demanded, exhausted the available database connections on Magna's platform. Magna's monitoring was apparently tuned to CPU usage, which stayed normal throughout, so the actual bottleneck went undetected by their automated systems until the team investigated manually. What This Means for IMU Holders All pre-sale IMU tokens were transferred directly to end-user wallets as soon as Magna platform functionality was restored on Jan 22 in the following hours. What We're Doing About It We selected Magna as our vendor because of their track record and tooling. That said, this event didn't meet the standard we hold for our community. We thoroughly evaluated the technical security features of Magna (via the Immunefi.com internal security team), but we didn’t expect that there’d be so many people accessing the service at once and that this would cause an issue for Magna. On our side, we'll be better prepared for high-demand airdrop/distribution events going forward. That includes closer coordination with partners on capacity planning, and ensuring load testing accounts for realistic community-scale traffic.
