Whose gunfire?? A 9-year-old girl shot in the head by Israeli soldiers, and the @CBC headline won’t even say who did it.

Israel killed Ali in South Lebanon today. He wasn’t a combatant. He was not armed. He was a paramedic. Israel killed him while he was saving lives on the frontlines.

Is the lesson that Israel can still kill people and you’ll call it a “ceasefire” @AP?

💢 After Israel massacred 357 people in a single day in Lebanon, and amid escalating European backlash, pro-Israel accounts have begun “discovering” copies of Adolf Hitler’s autobiography in Lebanon, like they did in Gaza at the height of Israel’s genocide and starvation campaign. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said Wednesday’s strikes killed 357 and wounded 1,223, part of a wave of attacks that hit around 100 sites across the country within ten minutes, including central Beirut. Since March 2, at least 1,953 people have been killed, more than 6,300 wounded, and roughly 1.2 million displaced. The strikes came just hours after a U.S.-Iran ceasefire announcement, that was stated to include Lebanon. European leaders have also said the truce should extend to Lebanon. The European Commission condemned the attacks as an “unacceptable threat to civilian lives,” while EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said it is “hard to argue that such heavy-handed actions fall within self-defense.” French officials have called the strikes “disproportionate” and are pushing to reopen discussions on suspending or revising the EU-Israel Association Agreement, with Spain backing calls to suspend the pact outright.

Absolute bombshell. Dr Éveline Hitti, chair of the emergency department at the American University of Beirut completely shatters Israel's fake narrative of targeting combatants. She reveals that while less than 1% of casualties in Ukraine are children, in Lebanon it is 14%, and in Gaza a staggering 30%. Pure evil exposed.

Israel killed Taleen and Yasmeen in Beirut, Lebanon. Not combatants. Not a threat. Two Lebanese students. No headlines. No outrage. No condemnations. No calls for sanctions.

It took Israel only 10 minutes to carry out one of the worst mass-killings in Lebanon since the end of the country’s civil war in 1990. Lebanese are still searching for loved ones under rubble and in hospital morgues. Hospitals are overwhelmed with patients, many of them children. “I thought they bombed a school at first,” the head of a hospital in Beirut said. theguardian.com/world/2026/apr…?

BREAKING: More details come into view. #Israel’s Security Cabinet has reportedly approved 34 new settlements, further entrenching its unlawful presence deep within the occupied State of #Palestine. The secrecy surrounding the decree appears calibrated, not for domestic necessity, but to spare discomfort among allies in the region, Europe and the United States. The ICJ Advisory Opinion on the Legal Consequences of the Occupation of Palestinian Territory (2024) was unambiguous. Israel is under an obligation to bring its unlawful presence to an end, unconditionally and without delay. Third States are under a corresponding duty not to aid or assist in maintaining that situation, and to cooperate to bring it to an end. Yet the response has been one of studied inaction. The Court spoke with clarity; the world replied with silence. Israel, reading that silence for what it is, has chosen not restraint, but acceleration of its colonization efforts.

Aljazeera is an international broadcaster, with bureaus in London, Asia, Qatar, Washington, EU, Kenya, Johannesburg, like you. Nobody ever says "France-based AFP News" because you are international. Or "US-based CNN" or "UK-based BBC," or "Toronto-based Reuters." So weird.

If they relay the facts, accurately and objectively, there is a deluge of pressure from the Israel lobby. Phone calls, emails - it’s extraordinary. And organised. This is the ‘electric fence’ approach to media monitoring and management, as Nick Davies calls it. You disincentivise accuracy, or even just covering stories. Even the smallest thing gets a response (like a small shock from a fence). Producers know there are costs for covering Israel, so they calculate ‘let’s leave it this time’. It’s not excusable, but it’s explicable. For the BBC, however, which is public service journalism, and which we all pay for, it’s unacceptable.
Hamza Yusuf@Hamza_a96

Israel ruthlessly carpet bombed Lebanon today, killing at least 180 people and injuring more than 800. How does the BBC report it? “Israel says it hit more than 100 command centres and military sites in 10 minutes…” This is how war crimes are laundered.

“He struck her with his weapon; her head hit the wall. I told him, ‘She’s dead,’ and he said, ‘Take her to the hospital,’ and they left.” — Hajj Walid Shamasneh, mourning his wife Sabriya, recounts how Israeli forces killed her in Qalqilya last night.

Lebanese circulating pictures of children found in rubble of buildings struck by Israel without warning, asking if anyone recognizes them to please get in contact. The wave of Israeli strikes has plunged the country into chaos in scenes reminiscent of the pager attacks in 2024.
