The geopolitical version of drunkenly sucker-punching a much smaller guy at a bar because your girl told you the smaller guy was looking at her funny...only to discover the much smaller guy knows Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has taken you down to the ground & begun to choke you out👇

So true. Legendary kiwi (and South Island - just saying) scientist Ernest Rutherford who split the atom over a century ago, captured the kiwi ‘no.8 wire’ mentality when he said his personal motto developed growing up without much money on a farm was “We haven't the money, so we've got to think." Labour seem to have developed a ‘luxury-wire’ mentality which seems to go: “We can’t think so we’ll just pretend everything can magically be free and hope no-one notices that the wannabe money emperor has no clothes.”
NickMowbray@NMowbray23

Labour and Chris Hipkins’ policies always seem to revolve around the word “free.” Fees free. GST free. Free doctor visits. But very rarely do they seem focused on the harder work of actually improving systems, driving productivity, reducing bureaucracy, embracing technology or delivering materially better outcomes and ideas to drive the country forward. Short-term cheap vote buying is lazy. Come up with some GOOD ideas. @nzlabour

Stop envying the 'successful' people who mock God. They are currently consuming their only reward. Matthew 6:2 says they have 'received their reward in full.' That’s it. That’s the peak. They get a few decades of toys and then an eternity of 'I never knew you.' Their 'win' is the

Every time I meet someone who has “left Christianity,” I ask them one simple question, “Do you look at pornography?” Every single person I can remember asking this to, without exception, admitted that they do. They don’t really leave the faith because the Bible is “full of contradictions.” They leave because the Bible contradicts the sin they refuse to let go of. The problem is not intellectual. It is moral. Their quarrel is not with Scripture, but with holiness. They do not walk away because truth failed them, they walk away because their desires mastered them. Jesus said it plainly, “Everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.” John 8:34. A man does not reject Christ because he is confused. He rejects Christ because he loves darkness more than light. So they create arguments against the Bible to protect the life they are unwilling to surrender. The conflict is not theology. It is the heart.

The strongest case for Christianity is not that secularism is bad. The strongest case for Christianity is that Jesus rose from the dead and is literally alive right now. That's what keeps secularism up at night. Secularism is not only intellectually delusional and morally vacuous. Above all, secularism is impotent. It cannot bear good fruit in society because it cannot impart new life. It cannot bring good news because it cannot say what "good" is. That's why secularism has always been a parasite of Christendom. It feeds off the goods from the culture which grew up from the new life which only Christ can give.
Matt Van Swol@mattvanswol

Honestly… Replacing Christianity with secularism has made everything worse. And that might be the strongest case for Christianity.

Christianity in the West is not just another religion. It is the moral infrastructure of the civilization. And the atheists who can’t wait to see it disappear will one day regret their contribution to pushing it out, just as their master, Dawkins, did last year. If Christianity goes, it does not go alone. With it goes everything it produced and then secularized: human dignity, equality before the law, freedom of conscience, freedom of speech, limits on state power, the idea that rulers answer to something higher than themselves. These did not fall from the sky. They were not discovered by pure reason. They were not produced by biology or evolution. They were born from a worldview. What makes a king and a homeless man equal? Nature does not, power does not, history does not. Only one idea does: that both are made in the image of God. What about freedom of speech? Why should anyone be allowed to say what they think? Because in the biblical worldview, conscience belongs to God before it belongs to the state. Because truth is not created by authority. That is not Greek philosophy, or Roman law, or modern science. That is Judeo-Christian theology translated into politics. What about limited state power? Why shouldn’t the state control everything? Because in the biblical model, the state is not divine. It is not sacred. It is not the source of morality. It is restrained because God stands above it. Remove God, and the state has no ceiling. So when people say:“Human reason produced these values,” they are confusing inheritance with invention. You did not invent them, you were born into them. Societies that abandon Christianity keep the language of rights but lose the substance. They still say “human dignity,” but they can no longer explain why humans have it. They still say “freedom,” but they redefine it as appetite. They still say “equality,” but they replace it with grievance. When we defend Judeo-Christian principles we are defending the moral architecture of the West. A society can survive anything except the destruction of its moral foundation. Those who cheer the death of Christianity believe they are freeing society. In reality, they are removing the load-bearing walls. And when the roof collapses, they will discover too late that what they hated was what was holding everything up.
