Happy Earth Day!
Los Angeles is at the epicenter of global climate leadership. My administration has taken decisive action to create a greener, more sustainable city, because that is what Angelenos deserves – and we can’t afford to wait.
From eliminating coal in our power supply to launching my Climate Action Plan, I’m committed to building a greener Los Angeles that bolsters local job growth and protects our future.
Learn more about how we're building a more resilient Los Angeles at plan.mayor.lacity.gov.

We’ve already made L.A. coal-free, opened one of the largest solar and battery storage facilities in the country, and doubled the number of EV chargers in Los Angeles. With this plan, we’re doubling down on that progress and moving full steam ahead to clean our air, create green jobs, and build a more sustainable city. We’re not just setting goals, we’re delivering results. And we’re showing the country, and the world, what’s possible with bold climate leadership.

I want to recognize our teachers, cafeteria workers, administrators, special education assistants, custodians, bus drivers, and other dedicated workers who show up for our children every single day. Their work is essential, and they deserve a fair contract. Today, that commitment has been met.
I am grateful to everyone who stayed at the table and worked together to put our families first.

I joined negotiations to push for a resolution, because a strike would have placed an enormous burden on working families across this city.
The people who educate and care for our children carry one of the greatest responsibilities there is. They deserve respect, they deserve stability, and they deserve a fair agreement.
Now we have one. Thank you to everyone who came together to put families first.

Los Angeles is home to one of the oldest Holocaust museums in the country. Founded by survivors, Holocaust Museum LA is dedicated to memory, education, and truth.
We gathered for Yom HaShoah to remember the six million Jewish souls and countless others who perished in the Holocaust. It is a profound privilege to still be able to hear directly from survivors, to learn from them, and carry their stories forward. In a moment like this, when fear and hatred are on the rise, there is a moral urgency to listen.
It is more important now than ever to preserve this history and educate future generations.

I’m pleased that Baywatch will continue to film right here on Venice Beach. When I heard there were issues with Baywatch filming in Los Angeles, my Office took immediate action with Councilmember Park to clear any City-related barriers, including making parking easier and more affordable for the production.
This was a team effort, among my Office, Councilmember Park’s Office, the County, Coastal Commission, Fremantle and FOX, and I’m thankful for this continued partnership.
The City of Los Angeles will always clear bureaucratic barriers, making it easier and more affordable to film in the entertainment capital of the world.

Today, we announced a historic investment to address Los Angeles’ housing crisis, more than $300 million in affordable housing funding and an additional $14 million to help renters to stay housed.
For decades, Angelenos have been forced to bear the burden of rising rents and eviction notices because City Hall failed to deliver housing and support for tenants. We are changing that broken system.

Our Inside Safe team brought more than 40 unhoused Angelenos inside this week, helping them transition off the streets and into safe and stable housing.
While there is more work ahead, for the first time ever, the tide is turning: homelessness has declined for two consecutive years in Los Angeles. This is real, measurable progress.

Today, Representative Sydney Kamlager-Dove and I announced nearly $3 million in federal funding we secured to support housing and transportation improvements in Los Angeles.
We fought hard for this funding to make Los Angeles safer and more affordable, and to build on the progress we’ve made over the last three years to reduce street homelessness.
We announced this investment at a site that reflects the work ahead — a former vacant lot now home to 180 families, along with businesses, a school, and a Metro job training facility. The transit plaza serving this community benefited from federal funding I secured in 2022 while serving in Congress, and this new investment will bring additional improvements to the area.
