Today we marked International Men's Day with events across our Housing First, Addiction Day Service, High-Support Accommodation and Drug Free Supported Housing services. The focus was on wellbeing and community, recognising the importance of connection and support. #IMD2025

Peter McVerry Trust is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sister Stanislaus Kennedy, founder of Focus Ireland. Her visionary leadership and tireless advocacy for those experiencing homelessness transformed countless lives across the country. Ar dheis dé go raibh a anam.

👻 Happy Halloween 👻 This October, students at our Learning Centres have been busy bringing Halloween to life through art. From transforming a pink plastic dolls’ house into a haunted mansion and turning conkers into eyeballs, each project has been a celebration of creativity.

🎃 Halloween across our services Our homeless accommodation services are getting in the spirit of Halloween. Participants of all ages have expressed their creativity and contributed to transforming the spaces with spooky artwork, pumpkins, ghosts and cobwebs.

Participants at one of our Dublin emergency accommodation services are embracing creativity and connection through new initiatives. A Garden Club has revitalised an old flower bed, while an Art Club offers space for expression, now proudly displayed on a dedicated noticeboard.

Our founder, Fr Peter McVerry, has advocated for vulnerable people, particularly young vulnerable people, throughout his life. Watch back this @RTELateLateShow clip from 1985 to hear Peter discuss the link between social deprivation and crime.

These numbers reflect not just the scale and diversity of service provision, but also the human impact of our work. We are committed today, and every day, to tackling homelessness in Ireland. 3/3

That includes: 🛌 supporting 714 adults, 55 young people, and 229 children experiencing homelessness,  🏠 providing wraparound supports to 1,564 tenants,  💚 working with over 100 individuals to help them overcome addiction issues and rebuild their lives.   2/3
