Woke up this morning and for the first time in over a week, I was not in the @WSOP Main Event. Still in the “glad I cashed, sad I busted” phase but with each passing moment I feel more and more grateful for the opportunity to have played, made a deep run, and represented @888poker / @UpswingPoker. Furthermore, I hope I was better able to represent myself. Said it before but on stream I sometimes feel like the worst version of myself as my sole focus is on high equity decisions (and dealing with the subsequent fallout). For whatever reason, playing live hits differently. While gameplay still takes up most of my mental energy, somehow there’s room to enjoy the social experience which is what drew me to poker in the first place. That means even when I wasn’t raking in pots at the table, I had so much fun. Routinely found myself in amusing and interesting conversations with my tablemates, regardless of whether they were played for a living or for a love of the game. Laughed a lot. Made new friends. And came away from this experience with more respect for anyone who plays live poker seriously, let alone those who try to do it professionally. Lastly, I want thank everyone for their support. Far too many to name individually. Couldn’t go ten minutes without someone messaging me on socials/thru text to wish good luck, or letting me know they were following my journey. Some were new people I’d never met or spoken to, others were old friends I hadn’t connected with in years. I know it sounds crazy because I was playing for $10 Million, but that outpouring of support might legitimately be my favorite part of this deep run. Could write more but this post is already far too long so I’ll wrap up by thanking everyone again who reached out, wishing good luck to those still in the Main or on the grind elsewhere, and hope to see you all at @WSOP 2026.
