8/8 We don't know if any cables have actually been cut. But 16 ships, 10 cable systems, 4 oceans... Simultaneous reconnaissance or pre-positioning at this scale has no precedent in the public record. Bad guys are either prepping something, or sending a clear message. 🧵FIN

7/8 Why does this matter? Cutting cables doesn't just slow down stuff like Netflix. It disrupts military communications, financial transactions, and civilian infrastructure across entire regions. The Baltic cuts of 2024–2025 cost millions in repairs, and took weeks to fix.

6/8 The ships themselves are suspicious. Five are flagged to Barbados, a common "flag of convenience" used by shadow fleet operators. One is a Chinese-flagged tanker near C-Lion1 (already targeted by a Chinese ship in 2024). One has a Russian geo name on an Antigua registration.

5/8 The cables being targeted aren't random... they include: 🌍 C-Lion1 (Finland↔Germany) — already cut TWICE in 2024–2025! 🌊 SeaMeWe-4 — the backbone of Europe-to-Asia internet. 🔵 APCN-2 — connects China, Japan, Taiwan & South Korea One ship got within 167 meters of APCN-2

4/8 My alert system detected two types of red flags: 🔴 Ships drifting at 0.1 knots directly above cables — textbook anchor-drag position 🔴 Ships that "went dark" (turned off their trackers) for up to 8 hours, with their paths crossing cable routes

3/8 Here's the dirty secret: Easiest way to cut one is to drag an anchor over it. Slow a ship down to almost zero knots directly above the cable, drop the anchor, and let it scrape. Almost impossible to prove it was intentional! Russia & China have done it repeatedly since 2022

2/8 First, what ARE these cables? They're fiber-optic cables laid on the seafloor connecting every continent. When you video call someone in Europe from the US, your data travels through one. There are about 500 of them worldwide, and they're shockingly easy to damage

1/8 🧵 Right now, PHANTOM WAKE is showing 16 ships behaving very suspiciously near the underwater cables that carry ~95% of the world's internet traffic. These detections happened in a 19-hour window across 4 different oceans. Clustering here very likely not a coincidence #OSINT
