The sad reality of all the 2.0-era bad takes on how simple it would be to “fix” or “rebuild” Twitter is that they are wholly under-appreciating the challenges and complexity of this system at scale. If it looks like a simple app as a user, that is because the UX does a good job.

A rewrite is like rebuilding a plane mid-flight. The first Twitter rewrite placed Rails with Java+Scala; it took *years* and seriously debilitated product work in the process.
Rewriting Twitter all over again is the dumbest imaginable move, and I can’t wait to watch.

In case you haven't heard, the US military budget that just passed was for $858 billion. So for about 5% of that the army of your biggest enemy, Russia, is being eradicated. A bargain.

Apparently @Namecheap is now selling bloch*in-based domains, and unless you hover over the illegibly low-contrast "i" icon there's no indication that you're buying something "not compatible with DNS" throughout the rest of the checkout process.
