State with the worst gap between population growth and spending in the last decade? Illinois. Population shrunk by 1%. State spending grew 72%, inflation adjusted. I'll continue asking - where did all the money go?

Last week we learned the killer of Sheridan Gorman brought tuberculosis into our community. Now we learn that HIV infections citywide rose 29% primarily due to migrants. Who doesn’t support importing the diseased and contagious who will require lifelong expensive taxpayer funded healthcare ($2B and counting just in the past few years) while also receiving housing and food assistance?
