After months of careful consideration I’m stepping down from NAFO and Twitter. My life direction has changed and I have other battles to fight. I’ll be leaving my account up so you can all still read my history threads, but as of tomorrow, I won’t be logging in anymore. Everyone keep fighting the good fight. Support Ukraine. Thank you for all the congratulations and supportive messages we all receive since the parliamentary elections in Hungary! This is a compilation from Tbilisi, Georgia in the next day after the elections. I see people from many countries rejoicing with Hungarians. As you know, parliamentary elections held in Hungary during the weekend, where it was a record turnout with close to 80% of the eligible voters participated. Here, Péter Magyar’s Tisza Party achieved a landslide victory, obtained constitutional majority, which gives them the opportunity to end the regime which got built by Viktor Orbán and his circles during the past 16 years of continuously ruling the country.

So, Russians are allowed back to swimming, officially, with their flags, anthem and everything. Shameful, @WorldAquatics .

Never forget what the russians are doing in Ukraine. On March 12, 2022, a civilian convoy from Zdvizhivka, Kyiv region — 15 cars marked “Children” and white flags — was stopped by russian forces near Havronshchyna. They tried to leave again the next day. A russian BMP opened fire with a heavy machine gun. A family of five was killed instantly — including a 2-year-old child. A local resident, Yuriy, hid the survivors until russian troops withdrew. He later buried the murdered family in his own garden. This is one of thousands of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the russians. The world has no right to stay silent. russia must face justice.

Russia dropped 6 guided bombs on the dam that supplies drinking water to over a million people in Kharkiv. Not a military base. Not a weapons depot. A dam supplying drinking water to Kharkiv — Ukraine’s second-largest city. The target: Pechenihy Dam, Chuhuiv district, Kharkiv Oblast. Ukraine’s largest reservoir — 86 km², stretching over 60 km along the Siverskyi Donets river. Built 1958–1962. Critical water supply for the entire region. “This is the largest reservoir in our oblast and a critically important facility — for the city of Kharkiv and our entire territory.” — Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov, April 14 This is not an isolated strike. In March, President Zelenskyy @ZelenskyyUa warned that Russia was planning targeted attacks on Ukraine’s water infrastructure in the months ahead. Today that warning became reality. Russia has already destroyed Ukraine’s power grid, heating systems, and energy infrastructure. Now the target is water. The logic is deliberate: no electricity means darkness. No water means disease, sanitation collapse, and the slow unravelling of civilian life in cities that have already survived two years of bombardment. Kharkiv has roughly 1.4 million people. Six guided bombs. One dam. One city’s water supply. This is not warfare. Sometimes, living in Kharkiv feels surreal. We focus on tasks and work, pretending everything is okay. We plant flowers, ignoring the ruins that Russian missiles left behind. ​We face attacks almost daily without the ability to hide. Russian drones are nearly always in the skies above us. We turn up the volume in our cars and headphones just so we don't hear them. There is nothing else to do. ​Our children watch cartoons in the middle of the night in corridors to hide from the bombings. They watch them loudly so they won't be terrified if they hear the explosions. It doesn't work most of the time. ​We replace broken glass windows with cardboard. ​We are called "unbreakable," but we all feel broken. ​Only it doesn't matter at all, because our choices are few: keep resisting or die. ​And so we plant flowers while ignoring the ruins, replace shattered windows with cardboard, turn up the volume, and keep moving forward. Cuteness overload. If he's not sleeping on my feet this is his next favourite spot in the corner under the chair. I have to pinch myself daily to remind myself this house, this puppy, this life is mine. Its a far cry from holidaying abroad 3 times a year, to using a sleeping bag under the winter stars. Never doubt your ability to overcome no matter the challenges you face. Keep the faith and when I say faith I mean faith in yourself
