According to Islamic Shariah the animal slaughtered must be healthy, old enough, and the knife should be sharp enough to slaughter it quickly across the jugular vain. Compared to other slaughter techniques halal slaughter is far more ethical, when you see how these slaughter houses treat their animals before and during the slaughter you would understand.

And that’s not even getting into how the animals are treated during their lives compared to proper halal standards.
