<I think the reason why metaphor does not have the sort of fandom that persona or shin megami tensei has is bc of how deeply political the game is, if you want to discuss the game you're really not going to be talking about it in any sort of "fandom" way bc you rlly cant>

Metaphor's message is clear, it's not through one person that change is enacted, the solution isn't just to make everyone rally behind one guy who will "save" everyone, but through community and collective action, by understanding one another and fighting oppression together.

This idea is inherently cruel and fails to consider many factors that would cause people to be incapable of demonstrating their abilities, such as systemtic factors and discrimination barely giving a chance at life, or the circumstances of birth leaving you in an awful position.

The game also touches upon the faults of individualism, and shows this ideology at it's most extreme through Louis Guiabern, who believes that power is the only thing that matters, and anyone who cannot prove themselves as a "worthy" individual should simply be left behind.

Metaphor ReFantazio has a very deep understanding of Christianity and uses that to pick it apart, in the way that Christians weaponize it to justify hatred and assert itself as the only religion permitted to exist, how it can be a propaganda tool for one's own agenda, it GETS it.

There's nothing wrong with believing in something, but unfortunately Christianity in particular is deeply rooted in rhetoric that fundementally leaves itself vulnerable to extremes, relying solely on guilt to sway people in it's favor, rather than a caring, hopeful attitude.

<crossworlds please add a gadget that allows you to refund your items for rings instead of having to use it I think that would be very funny and awesome, it'd be a very interesting alternate way of item control that lets you just, refuse certain items if you don't want to>

(awesome anime plot idea, guy gets enrolled into a prestigious magic academy but he didn't realize that it was an all girls school bc he didn't actually look into it outside of "it's a good magic school" and gets confused how he got accepted, but she finds out soon enough!)
