🇭🇰 Hong Kong is not becoming a digital asset hub. It already is. The regulatory architecture has been under active construction for two years and is now reaching the infrastructure layer - custody, settlement finality, stablecoins, RWA tokenisation. 2026 is the year the regulatory framework becomes fully operational. VA custodian and dealer licensing heading to LegCo. A stablecoin regime already in force since August 2025. Twelve licensed trading platforms operating. The conditions for regulated institutional deployment are being completed in real time. That makes this a meaningful window, for institutions with a strategic focus on this market, and for infrastructure providers that want to be among the first positioned to operate within a fully licensed environment. If that's where your focus is, the full analysis is in the first comment.

Hong Kong's regulatory build-out for digital assets is here! It's not just VATP licensing. It's spot ETFs, stablecoin ordinance, draft custody and dealing frameworks scheduled for Legislative Council in 2026. Wrote about what this means for infra & institutional operators 👇

@0xRobbStack Bastards, what have you done with the atom? You fucking pig. All you're capable of is telling fairy tales about Cosmoslabs. Where is the 100-fold increase in liquidity, and which they wrote about.

⚛️ Today is 7 years of Cosmos Hub. Seems there is no celebration this year. I still remember the 5th anniversary, I was hosting it alongside many contributors. Few blockchain networks can claim 7 years in production. Happy birthday $ATOM. Still here. Still producing blocks.

Fidelity is building a Digital Asset Operating Platform for onchain finance. They are also hiring talent across EVM, Solana & Cosmos SDK. 2026 is shaping up as the year institutions shift from being onchain to operating onchain.

Wells Fargo appears to be building a digital asset platform, and is hiring for engineering talent with Cosmos SDK and CometBFT experience 👀 A strong signal of where institutional priorities are heading: confidentiality and regulatory-grade operating controls.

🗣️ Thanks for having us at #Cosmoverse! Our CEO & co-founder, Alessio Quaglini @onchainpanini, joined leaders from Peggy Kwok (@InvestHK), Chuan Jin Fong (@GSR_io), Lance Yeung (HKSTP) & Michael Wurzinger (@CosmoverseHQ) to discuss the institutional roadmap for digital assets. Quick Takeaways: ✅ Regulated custody is the essential first step for scaling. ✅ On-chain assets must provide real tech advantages (e.g., collateralisation). ✅ HK sandboxes are key to bridging TradFi and Web3. We are proud to be at the forefront of building a secure, regulated financial future in APAC. 🤝

Growth of ATOM (as a Blockchain) suffers because the team is focused on institutional adoption of the stack, instead of making Cosmos Hub a showcase for the best and greatest that the stack offers (no Cosmos EVM etc etc). Growth of the Cosmos stack suffers, as there's a perception with using the stack that everything created will be second best to ATOM. The very organsations and projects we want to attract, are put off that the tech is becoming second fiddle to wanting to grow the ATOM price.

Unpopular Opinion: Cosmos as a stack would have done a million times better, without the ATOM token. The future of Cosmos doesn't need an ATOM token, and so much time and effort is wasted trying to bring PMF to ATOM.

Sir, we are not here to build Web2 with better APIs. Web3 is about decentralized infrastructure + token economies + user ownership. Decoupling infrastructure adoption from token-aligned economics might make institutions more comfortable short-term, but it recreates Web2 dynamics. The hard problem is designing models where adoption strengthens user ownership, not bypasses it.

My phrasing was slightly wrong above. I'm not saying that Cosmos didn't arrive because of ATOM, I'm saying the future of Cosmos (in terms of institutions & organizations adopting the stack) is in direct loggerheads with growing ATOM. These organisations don't care about the ATOM token, and trying to make the stack all about being a revenue driver to ATOM, will put these institutions off using it. Imho, the team should be split into two. One team trying to grow the ATOM token, making it a showcase for the latest and greatest that the Cosmos stack offers. The other team should be persuing the institutional adoption of the stack, but this shouldn't involve things always coming back to the ATOM token. It should be separate.

@M4gLB @AirdropGlideApp The stack can be technically decoupled from ATOM, but the Cosmos brand and legitimacy, including the foundation mandates, are products of ATOM existence.

@0xRobbStack @AirdropGlideApp Both points can be true. ATOM was essential to bootstrap Cosmos early on, but bootstrapping doesn’t imply permanent centrality. Today, the Cosmos stack (SDK, IBC, CometBFT) is largely decoupled from ATOM. Acknowledging the cause doesn’t require freezing it as the core forever.
