@23datruth It isn't a bid. The team who drafts you has exclusive rights to you. That's it. He can refuse to sign, but the drafting team keeps his rights the whole year, and then he goes into the draft again. How does he get to the Giants? They can trade for him in 6 months from the Sox.

@23datruth They don't have that option. If the Sox take him #1, and they probably will, it's over. Doesn't matter how much MORE some later team COULD pay. He can refuse to sign with them, but then he goes nowhere for a year and then likely is drafted worse next year. 🤷
