🤓 For parliamentary history nerds: the first Speaker-Deputy duo where neither member came from a governing party was David Prowse (No Self-Government Party) and Bill Stefaniak (Liberal) 35 years ago in the First Assembly

This morning, @markparton was elected unopposed as Speaker of the ACT Legislative Assembly 🗳️ Congratulations Mr Speaker! With Andrew Braddock as Deputy Speaker, they are the second Speaker-Deputy duo in our history where neither member comes from a governing party

📅 Today marks the first of a few days of intensive training for5️⃣ our 6️⃣ new members of the ACT Legislative Assembly. Each new member was presented with a silver lapel pin.
