Com o fim dos discos a PlayStation prepara terreno pro PS6. O console não vai ter leitor, barateando custo de produção e custos logísticos (peso menor). Além disso, existe a possibilidade dos jogos em geral ficarem mais baratos. As publishers não terão o custo adicional de fabricar discos, evitando até vazamentos precoces. Alan Wake 2 é um exemplo de jogo que custou mais barato. A Nintendo também passou a fazer a distinção de preço entre os dois formatos.

@DaftHero Turns out Gabe was ahead of the curve, and in reality the Steam Cube was actually the best deal relative to the competition. The whole situation is still awful and every option sucks, but Valve has clearly done their best to make something fair to the consumers.
