🍀 This #StPatricksDay remember Irish immigrant John Dunlap of Strabane, County Tyrone. He printed the first copies of the Declaration of Independence in 1776—and fought with George Washington at Trenton and Princeton. One of Dunlap’s broadsides is now on view at the American Revolution Institute.

#OTD, 250 years ago, British forces evacuated Boston. With American fortifications on Dorchester Heights, General Howe chose evacuation over destruction, loaded more than 9,000 British soldiers and Loyalists onto transport ships & sailed to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
