The announcement our new friends from the crypto world have been waiting on:
📣 Arctic Fox Daily Wildlife Rescue has officially received the funds that have been generated thus far through the Pump Fun x Donate GG collaboration.
This feels like such a surreal update to type, because this deposit of $150,000 that just hit our sanctuary’s bank account is going to be incredibly impactful for our mission.
Over the past several weeks, an orphaned Red fox I took in, named Apple, captured the attention of people far beyond our usual audience, and somehow that attention grew into support for our rescue from an entirely different corner of the internet than I ever expected.
What started with Apple’s story going viral ultimately introduced thousands of new people to Arctic Fox Daily, our mission, and the animals who call this place home. To every person who played a role in that - primarily through the lovely $Apple community, and also through other groups and communities rallying around our rescue, sharing our content, asking questions, donating directly, or simply cheering us on with encouraging words - thank you!
I would also like to thank @leap_xyz and the teams at @donatedotgg and @Pumpfun for the work that went into making this collaboration happen.
As someone who was learning the bare minimum about this world in real time, I know I probably wasn’t always the easiest beneficiary to work with - I asked a lot of questions, to say the least. So, I appreciate the patience, communication, and effort that went into getting this across the finish line! Because of it, real animals WILL directly benefit. And in addition, I genuinely believe MANY other nonprofits will benefit as well; it’s truthfully a brilliant, niche business idea, and I’m grateful that Arctic Fox Daily has been given the opportunity to be a part of it.
I also want to thank the people who chose patience, kindness, and grace throughout this process. This was a brand new collaboration with a lot of moving pieces behind the scenes, and there were plenty of questions that I didn’t always have answers to - nor can I keep up with the influx of messages the way I wish I could, especially during baby wildlife season. The people who continued to be supportive while allowing things to unfold properly have my most sincere appreciation. 🙏🏼
I want to be careful not to make promises about specific outcomes, because wildlife rescue, sadly, doesn’t work that way. Animals don’t always cooperate with our plans, every day with Apple is a gift, and treatment does not come with guarantees. But, what I CAN say is this:
Options that may have once been out of reach until a fundraiser goal was met are now on the table. 🍏🧠
If Apple’s veterinary neurology team ultimately determines that she is an appropriate candidate for neurosurgery, the conversation will not have to pause just because funding is not yet available. In a case where time matters as much as it does with these sensitive hydrocephalic patients, that is an incredible gift. Whether surgery ultimately becomes part of her story or not, knowing that financial limits no longer have to dictate that conversation is something we do not take for granted.
Beyond Apple, these funds represent opportunity! Opportunity to improve and maintain our facility, to ultimately expand what we are capable of doing, and to help animals that have not even arrived here yet. I am so excited to put that support to work!
Though I am certainly not savvy to the world of crypto logistics, I do know that those of you who participated in this did not have to purchase a meme coin that our rescue was selected to benefit from. So, to our new friends in the crypto world who did, thank you for being part of this! Thank you for taking a chance on #Applethefox and, in the process, helping our entire organization! This has been one of the most unexpected partnerships I’ve ever witnessed unfold, and I’m excited to see where it goes from here. 🫶🏼
