DNFed another litRPG. I don't mind the progression elements and level up scenes, so long as it is in the service of some greater goal--saving town, the world, etc. Leveling up just to get more skills to level up by itself does not a story make.

Japanese fans/audience uses two terms to describe storytelling approach especially in tv shows. Vertical Axis: Stories that advance the main plot. Horizontal Axis: More 'standalone' stories or 'slice of life' stories that expands what it feels like to live in the world.
