@picturelady1959 @EricLDaugh Only funding Special Ed, huh? Interesting that want state and local taxes to go through the roof. How much property tax did you pay last year? Rhetorically question, but did you want it to double?

@EricLDaugh The ONLY thing the Federal Department of Education should do is provide funds for special education to the States. Just the funds.

If Trump can't outright disband the Department of Education, he should downsize it and make it so irrelevant to the states that it might as well have been disbanded.

@EricLDaugh Why's that? Because you need a poorly educated population to hold onto power. Of course, this will be at the expense of America's competitiveness (lack of standards, funding, etc).

@Jeremy82478557 @Stpolishook @aaronnarraph @mdasilva1563 To further elaborate, too much of the electorate is swayed by stupid memes that have no foundation in facts or reality. They also pass along obvious misinformation without taking 10 seconds to do even casual research to see if it's true. If this behavior continues, we're doomed.

@Stallion_Pt3 @CalltoActivism The ones that are in place are not actually promoting it, but providing protections for transgendered individuals (mostly adults). It's more hateful crap from a hateful old man meddling in what he doesn't understand.

@AxiomSpectrum @CalltoActivism He is talking about federal programs. He’ll stop federal programs that promote and fund transitioning. Which I agree with. He’s not saying he will ban the medical practice. He just wants to remove this from being a federal agenda

BREAKING NEWS: Trump says he’ll sign an executive order instructing all Federal agencies to cease all programs that promote gender transition AT ANY AGE. Trump will also call on Congress to prohibit tax payer funding for sex affirming procedures. This will ruin people’s lives.

@Stallion_Pt3 @CalltoActivism So you're saying you didn't listen to what Trump said or read the criticism of it. Trump clearly said all ages. This isn't about protecting children, it's about weird ass transphobia.

You screamed for four years about Trump denying the result of the election and now you are denying the result of the election. Congrats on becoming the very thing that you claimed to “resist.”

@TheRealBretRose @ClintonReedy @davidzweig You know, I see truth in that. We'll see what happens. Beyond making people insane, when I get afraid/anxious I literally get sick from GI tract disorders. There is no sense in making myself sick over what might happen, right?

The U.S. electorate voted for a right-wing populist message because Democrats refuse to lay out a left-wing populist message and when someone like Bernie did it was Democrats who shut it down. That’s it. That’s the whole story and why the country keeps moving further right.

A Government Arms Race for Bitcoin? The Governmental Bitcoin FOMO could be able to take hold. With @realDonaldTrump back in office and lawmakers like @SenLummis pushing for a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR), here’s how I think things could play out if the U.S. actually goes down this path. If Congress passes an SBR initiative, which seems more likely now, it wouldn’t stop there. Other nations would be watching closely. Once they see the U.S. putting serious resources into Bitcoin, they’d probably want to do the same, knowing that such a move would likely drive up Bitcoin’s value. 1. Global Response Early Movers: Some countries would rush to buy Bitcoin even before the U.S. finalizes any decisions, hoping to get in while prices are lower. Countries like China, Russia, and Iran—already wanting to reduce their reliance on the U.S. dollar—would likely start buying quickly to protect themselves from U.S. financial control. Alliances and Strategies: U.S. allies might also feel pressure to hold reserves of Bitcoin to keep up with economic shifts. Countries in NATO, for example, might see holding Bitcoin as a way to ensure financial stability and unity within the alliance. Developing Countries’ Opportunity: For developing countries, like El Salvador, which already accepts Bitcoin as legal tender, this could be a way to escape inflation and improve economic stability. They’d want to get in early to make sure they don’t miss out. 2. A New Financial Arms Race Becoming a Global Reserve: If countries begin stockpiling Bitcoin, it could evolve into a major global reserve asset, potentially even challenging the U.S. dollar’s role. Since Bitcoin has a hard cap of 21 million, the countries that hold the most could gain significant influence over this decentralized asset. Market Control: Big players like the U.S., China, and Russia would likely compete to own as much Bitcoin as possible, aiming to control the market in ways similar to how oil prices are influenced by OPEC. This could mean coordinated buying or selling to impact Bitcoin’s price on a large scale. 3. Economic Shifts Ahead Bitcoin’s Price Potential: If governments worldwide start buying up Bitcoin, the limited supply and increased demand could drive its price into the millions. In that case, Bitcoin would become a truly global store of value and could reshape the financial landscape. A Global “Federal Reserve” Role: If Bitcoin becomes the main reserve asset, countries with the largest Bitcoin reserves could have similar power to a global Federal Reserve, able to influence markets and shape global policy through Bitcoin. 4. Moving Toward a New Monetary System Geopolitical Tensions and Challenges: This “arms race” for Bitcoin could lead to more international tensions. Countries that get in late might end up economically disadvantaged and would have less control over global economic trends tied to Bitcoin’s value. Domestic Changes for Bitcoin-Holding Nations: Within Bitcoin-holding nations, there’d likely be debate over Bitcoin’s role in national monetary policy, leading to new economic strategies to adapt to a world where Bitcoin plays a major role. The future where Bitcoin reaches $1 million or more could come faster than expected if this global arms race begins. This could go far beyond just speculation—it could redefine the idea of a global reserve currency and shift economic power dynamics worldwide.

@Terri34232432 @UltraTaekiBB @asclepiasyriaca Am I? I'm just going off of what he promised to do. In these post-election days, I've been reading these post-election threads. My findings thus far are that a lot of good people who unfortunately voted for Trump don't actually know what they voted for.

@TheRealBretRose @ClintonReedy @davidzweig But is overreacting to call him that? No, not when you look at what he wants to do. Stuffing the civil service with loyalists to him (as opposed to the constitution, the country, the people, etc) is day one of every Fascist and Communist dictatorship ever.

@UltraTaekiBB @asclepiasyriaca And that has nothing to do with Trump. Illegal immigrants who commit violent crimes would be deported under any administration. But Trump's people were talking "repatriation" - rounding up legal immigrants who committed no crimes and deporting them.
