Imagine if Gamera ended after Super Monster which had a “definitive ending”. We never would’ve gotten the incredible 90s trilogy.

Because it’s not a “finished series”. Gamera the Brave was meant to start a new continuity, not end the franchise. A “finished series” ends precisely when it intends to. A “dead series” ends when it is forced to pre-emptively. Gamera is the latter.
