Brixworth surgery move delayed till end of the month.

Annual Parish Council general meeting for Lamport and Hanging Houghton tonight. Good turnout, relatively speaking!

Lamport telephone box needs some TLC. General thought is that it needs moving from current location outside the Swan to somewhere else in the village

Neighbourhood Link: this is s new service to help Parish Council communicate with people in the villages. The Link is a mailing list for alerts which anyone can sign up for from Parish Council website. (Link to follow)

DDC currently proposing no growth for Lamport and Hanging Houghton till 2029. Group seeking to decide what kind of document to produce - could be a design statement instead of full plan

Neighbourhood Plan: 9 ppl joined planning group. Work currently at early stage.

Speeding continues to be an issue in both Lamport and HH mainly delivery drivers and ppl working in village. Some verbally abusive to villagers trying to slow them down.

Illegal Rave in March in barn on Brampton Valley Way was attended by around 60 people from some distance and left a lot of litter

There've been other incidents - some opportunistic others premeditated. HH and Lamport far from alone

Similarly PC grants support to Northampton Sailing Club, who applied for DDC funding to support the club, Sailability open day and the sailing school, and to Sport England for £10k towards new boats and new courses.

Cricket Club is seeking PC support for the Help for Heroes charity match on 22 July - this is to ensure that all moneys raised go to the charity. Daventry PC offered £500 towards costs (toilet, marketing, wet weather shelter). PC supports the application.

Brixworth Community Centre can’t quite cover its ongoing running costs. Parish Council is closing the gap with a payment of £4600 this year.

Speaking of the new surgery: it’s expected to open mid- June!

Various local groups contributing money or equipment to new surgery. SSPG will make it a condition that any equipment bought for Saxon Spires has to remain in the Brixworth surgery
