@bunyrabitgirl @fatchud66 Sex isn’t binary. AGAB ≠ every sex trait you (naturally) develop in your lifetime. AGAB is just a thing a doctor *assigned*. Most of the time it’s accurate enough, but there are exceptions. You can be AFAB, go through a testosterone based puberty, and be assumed male by society
English

@fatchud66 @BuggPuppet you cant just choose between cis and trans, i wish i could but if youre afab and identify as a woman you are cis.
English

Every time I see people make afab trans woman jokes I have to resist the urge to bring up that afab trans women exist and they’re intersex every time you think a gender identity doesn’t make sense the answer is usually it was coined by intersex people

How it feels to not engage and block every transphobic comment under this

Happy Trans Visibility Day!! #mlp

I hate the word problematic I’ve heard it wayyy too many times 😭
It just sounds like so light of a word and people use it to describe so many situations and I’m just like did this person draw foot stuff or are they a serial groomer
roxie@babeyhotline
can people stop saying problematic when referring to a groomer or pedophile and just say groomer or pedophile

@midnightdusks I brought it up because that joke hinges on the idea that afab transfems aren’t a real/valid thing and promotes the idea that all afab transfems ARE cs larpers
English

@BuggPuppet yeah but the image is talking about cis women larping being trans ngl
English

@Yoru656703 Transness is influenced not only by agab, but socially imposed gender and feelings towards your sex traits. Sometimes those things don’t match.
English

@BuggPuppet If this is simply to spread awareness, that's fine... But isn't the definition of "transgender" just "being a different gender of the sex you were assigned at birth"?
If you're AFAB and female, you would, by definition, be cis, and being intersex wouldn't affect anything. Right?
English

@nocosttooblue Intersex traits/variations aren’t always apparent at birth n sometimes doctors WILL see that and baby is intersex but still decide to put them into the male or female box. I’m intersex and AFAB since my traits are very under researched and went unnoticed (as far as I’m aware)
English

@BuggPuppet Wouldn't that make them aiab 😭?or....assigned no gender at birth?
I've only seen intersex people with more estrogen or testo so they get assigned m or f based on that
English

@kobivo I know…that’s the afab transfem jokes I’m talking abt…
English

@BuggPuppet The graphic itself is not about intersex ppl tho, one of the examples is literally 'you feel like a woman trapped in a mans body trapped in a womans body', its satire
English

@Ramenking_v1 I mean a demigirl can identify as an afab trans woman idc it’s just the term is mostly used by intersex ppl. I don’t think kits intersex exclusive.
English

@ftmspongebob0 AFAB doesn’t mean 100% typical female. Someone could be AFAB but go through a testosterone based puberty or have atypical genitalia that becomes more apparent with age. They might take steps to feminize themselves because it makes them dysphoric. That’s technically transitioning.
English

@BuggPuppet i don’t understand, how could you be an afab trans woman? to be trans is to identify as a gender different than the one assigned to you at birth. if you were assigned female, and you identify as female… i mean… that’s just c1s, isn’t it?
English

@kinnieslop Someone assigned female at birth can go through a masculinizing puberty and have maleness socially imposed onto them
AGAB isn’t the end all be all or all encompassing of someone’s sex it’s just a one off decision makes by a doctor that can very well be inaccurate in many ways
English

@BuggPuppet "afab trans women exist" transfemininity is a material label defined by rejection of a patriarchy-coerced male sexgender assignment and the afab trans woman label is absolutely a transmisogynistic psyop using intersex people as a smokescreen
English

@hardpietdepsi @footsweatlickr I’m not saying trans women are defined by male puberty, I’m saying that both groups can experience dysphoria over their physical bodies and the social imposition of maleness/masculinity due to it. Also cistrans is a label plenty of intersex people use.
English

@BuggPuppet @footsweatlickr doesn’t that construe a trans female identity as “someone who went through a male puberty”? on the other hand why wouldn’t the person who you describe be a cís intersex woman?
English

@NyxPsychop0mp People forget intersex people exist. Also I feel like most people thing AFAB and AMAB are the same as the binary sexes and that all intersex people are assigned intersex at birth.
English

@BuggPuppet i don't get it, how does "probably something to do with intersex people" not come to people's minds when they read "afab trans woman"?
English

@GL0SSMYLARG0 Yeah I’m not binary and I used to identify as afab transfem/transmascfem (I’ve been on and off with that second label tbh) before finding out I was intersex…I feel like there’s some overlap between non binary and intersex experiences
English

@BuggPuppet I mean yeah but at the same time if an afab non-intersex woman sorta connects with this it prolly means she might be nb
English

@footsweatlickr Maybe someone was assigned female at birth but went through a testosterone based puberty and developed “male” secondary sex characteristics. Maybe she’d feel dysphoric over it and take estrogen, get laser hair removal, voice trait etc
English

@footsweatlickr Being assigned female at birth isn’t the same as having a completely typical female biology. It’s just the category the doctor thought was the box you fit into the easiest. Sometimes intersex traits aren’t obvious from birth, especially in those assigned female.
