That's essentially a claim against all Black men who know and don't approve of what folks like ProZD, Hari Kondabolu and other voices like theirs have caused in the industry. Dawg, what you aren't understanding is that merit should be the primary basis assessed when it comes to qualification. Primary in this case being "one and only." Affirmative Action is painted as "opportunities for underrepresented or disadvantaged," but the problem posed is that standards will have to change by default. A White dude for example can play a Middle Eastern character far better than his Middle Eastern colleagues, but because he himself is not of descent he has to step back from work? That's nonsense. The moment the standards start lowering is the moment the casket for the project starts to get built. It's not a guarantee that the project is DOA, but you still jeopardize the project. More to the point, it's basically saying, "You, person of immutable trait, are not good enough for the role but I, the greenlighter, shall give you the role because A) you should be pitied and B) I will be virtuous or C) I am forced to give you the role." Addressing this racism claim, folks like Kaida, Fenrir, myself and plenty other Black folks can laugh at the race-based statements our non-Black cohorts make because that shit is legitimately funny. Why would it upset you that someone says "Asians love math and rice" or "Black folks love twerking and watermelon" or "Mariachi music starts when Hispanics show up" or "White people don't season their food?" They're jokes. Stereotypes, but jokes. More to the point, they're words. They only hurt as much as you allow them to. Finally, this idea that two Black men are brainwashed because they see what bad faith actors are capable of and will call it out is at best a braindead take and at worst a dishonest one. I would wager Kaida and Fenrir have a similar policy as mine, "I don't care who voices who, just make me believe it." The mentality of "only Blacks can voice Blacks, Autistic people can voice Autistic people, etc" is more of a brainwashed mentality. At that point, it's "what you are" instead of "what you can do." TL;DR I don't know, dawg. Affirmative Action seems far more racist than "you meet the qualifications for this voicing gig."
