CFB hasn’t been the same since SEC left CBS

This may label me as a casual but it’s getting harder and harder for me to love college football. There’s too many moving parts now. The simplicity is gone. The traditions are gone. The heated rivalries are gone. It’s like watching a Netflix adaption of the real CFB.

I absolutely love what Bama has done in the portal this cycle. Stacking the trenches and getting a few needed skill players. Not a dollar wasted.

@AlafrigginBama Aggression isn’t the issue. You can be aggressive all you want but if you don’t have Texas oil money you’ll have to be smart and spread the wealth you have. Some fans want Bama to spend 5 million on Coleman just have no depth anywhere else and that’s not sustainable

You’re missing the point. Guys like Cam Coleman is a great talent I’m not denying that. The problem is people who think bama should’ve spent 3-4 million on him when we have plenty of roster space that needs to be addressed. Bama is taking a very smart and practical approach with the available nil budget. What Bama can spend vs Texas is much different. But up to this point it hasn’t mattered when you compare what each of them have achieved recently. The point is player development is still king

What makes Texas scary is they not only signed a great high school class,but also a top portal class.They will be better. Don’t be delusional, money wins

2024 they were top 5, last year they were top 25 (likely took it easy in order to go big this cycle) Regardless what have they done that has shown better results than Alabama? All they’re doing is throwing money at the wall and hoping it sticks. Look at Indiana, basically nothing but JMU transfers but one of the most dominant teams in the nation. Player development is still king.

Texas did the same thing last year and ended up missing the playoffs. Portal rankings are worse than high school recruit rankings, they mean absolutely nothing. Texas is way overspending for its players. Alabama has done an incredible job of talent assessment and spreading the NIL budget around to where it’s needed. Bama will be very solid next season
