@Gingerblast A characters sexuality should only matter if it affects the story… If it doesn't affect the campaign/story and it's mostly just background information then it's not adding anything to the story at all… And it doesn't make you interesting if that's the focal part of a character

@Gingerblast The reason why this is even a conversation is because somewhere along the way people think that their race and sexual orientation is even interesting enough to make a story around it. Pick your pronouns, say who you're in love with/married to, and play the damn campaign

All this guy does is post about things he finds interesting (some of which is new to me), gives the recipe for popular items you see in fast food/restaurants, and is genuinely just a wholesome guy who throws his glasses against the wall on occasion. I don't think he's the problem

if you find this guy annoying and youre not sure why, its because he does every video like he just discovered sliced bread and youve never heard of it. and its not his fault. the algorithm boxed him into one type of content. hes completely algo captured.

@hokkori_nekko I know when a mangaka wants to make a story, they work hard and make that story. This idea of "forcing diversity" or trying to "include everyone" is not creative, it's just a selfish way to see yourself in an existing story. The people complaining should make their own stories

@hokkori_nekko As a black person let me be very clear -I appreciate anime and manga because it is Japanese and want to keep it Japanese -i've never needed to see my skin color on a character to relate to that character. -western culture has given excuses for certain people to disrespect others

@NoContextDsptch Most of the "grifters" have no issue with a game existing with "woke" elements. And they'll even play them on stream just to get a few laughs out of it. The issue comes from it being overly preachy, unoriginal, infiltrating an existing IP, etc. basically just feeling unauthentic

@chloe_vz @RinoTheBouncer My only issue with fanservice is if it takes you out of a moment or is a distraction. If I see an anime called "beach babe boob bikini battlers" I go and fully aware of what I'm getting myself into If a show establishes itself as a sexy good time then I know what to expect

@BionicDance @RinoTheBouncer I don't think anything can be more genuine than a creator of a show wanting to incorporate fanservice. If the creator wanted fan service in the show because that is the direction they wanted to go then I don't see why it should be an issue. Not every story is for everyone

@RinoTheBouncer I think this meme misunderstands what "fan service" is. I mean, I agree that not everything has to be "bleak & realistic", but fan service is ultimately shallow additions to a story that make it feel self-aware rather than genuine.
