No one tells you how hard it is to make a hit feel right…It’s not just attacking.
It’s how every hit lands, every impact feels.After days working on this, I think it’s finally getting there.
Does this look satisfying?

@SilesiaGames that’s a really nice way to put it
a path you choose to slow down on vs something that gets in your way
I think that’s exactly the kind of feeling I’m trying to create with this
still figuring out how subtle that “path” should be though
English

It depends on the type of player your game is targeting. However, we agree that a nice vibe is a bonus for the game~
Think of it like a garden – players like to walk down a path lined with flowers that they can pause to admire, rather than tripping over flowers that have been planted right in their way just to move forward😌
English

@bengal1728 yeah 100% agree
as soon as it feels forced, it breaks the immersion completely
I think the goal is to make players want to slow down, not make them do it
way harder than it sounds though
English

@Top_haze yeah exactly, it’s a balancing act
I feel like you can’t force players to slow down, you can only invite them to
the hard part is making that invitation feel worth it without turning it into just another reward loop
definitely still figuring that out
English

@ChakaDev_ It depends on the type of player , you can't really control it so I suppose it's a balancing act.
English

@WalterTelnov I think the reward doesn’t always need to be loot or progression
sometimes it’s just atmosphere, discovery, or a moment that feels real
but yeah, it’s a hard balance because players are so used to constant rewards
curious how you’re handling it on your side
English

@ChakaDev_ The graphics are so beautiful. So how do you reward the player for slowing down? I’m asking as an indie dev, because I have a similar problem in my game, which is focused on exploration.
English

@feivisuals really appreciate it
anything specific that stood out to you?
English

@ArkenicGames glad you noticed, the water took a lot of work
I’m trying to make every small detail feel worth looking at

English

There’s a moment in some games where you stop moving…
not because you have to, but because something about the world just feels right.
You look at the lighting, the silence, the atmosphere…
and for a second, you’re just there. 🌙
