@MichelleDewbs @ZackPolanski Unless there’s a national social housing build ie council houses this housing crisis will continue to perpetuate. We feel the results of the Thatcher era of selling off the housing stock 40 years later. Private housing at market led rates fill the void

Hi @ZackPolanski I agree rents are too high, but I have questions… 1. If ‘rent controls’ are in place in a market where mortgages & costs are still increasing, are you expecting landlords to operate at a loss & if so, do you realise they will sell up? What’s your plan re that reduced supply? 2. Companies like Serco are offering above market rates (and therefore often this is increasing market rates of other properties too) to landlords offering their properties to illegal migrants. What’s your plan re that?

@Jordan_MG_ There are a million vacancies at the moment due to drop to 900,000. Why can we not fill them . To many need directing to these jobs and off benefits . Would still leave 900,000 without a job so migration should be halted.

BREAKING: The UK government just admitted it underestimated AI data center emissions by up to 136,000%. Original estimate was 0.142 million metric tons of CO2 per year. The revised figure is 34 to 123 million metric tons over the next decade. That is equivalent to the carbon emissions produced by 2.7 million people. The government quietly deleted the old estimate and replaced it this week.
