North Carolina lost Seth Trimble for over a month. It’s been without Caleb Wilson for multiple weeks. 23-6 with wins over Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, and Virginia, with the latter two coming on the road. A heck of a job by Hubert Davis and his staff in Chapel Hill.

Carolina is 40-7 against NC State since the start of the 2003-04 season.

Over the past couple weeks, North Carolina has shown a ton of improvement and played like a better team. They are two plays away from being 4-3 with a ranked win over #16 Virginia. The Tar Heels lost on the road to Cal after fumbling inches from the goal line when they were about to take a 25-21 lead late in the 4th quarter. Last week they lost to #16 Virginia by one point in overtime after coming up inches short on a 2-point conversion attempt. They also dropped a pass that could’ve put them in field goal range with a shot to win at the end of regulation. After a disastrous start and people saying that Belichick should be fired 5 games into his first season, they now appear to be trending in a positive direction.
