@davidclowery Tone on an acoustic is very personal, more so than on an electric...string type, string guage, wood type, pick material, pick thickness, fingerpicking, playing style...try everything to dial in your sound.

Since we’re discussing how to string an acoustic guitar. Let’s talk string type. Don’t use phosphor bronze strings. Use plain bronze. There’s some kind of “sugar high” top end on those strings that may sound superficially good, but ends up being problematic when you put a mic on it.

You are missing a VERY important layer here. AI ends Hollywood's gatekeeping. The bottlenecks are gone. It's anybody's ball game now. Hollywood was never optimised to Identify the most talented and creative people on the planet. Most people don't know this. But for screenwriters (where it all starts) the game is rigged. Studios and producers can't read your script unless it comes to them through a very convoluted submission process. And to begin that submission process - you need an agent, or a lawyer. And here is where it becomes broken - you can't get an agent unless you have credits or someone who literally walks you into one. Rigged. Suboptimal. No wonder we keep getting reboots and derivative crap in theatres.

AI is a useful tool, but making it your whole toolbox won't differentiate you from every other angry dude trying to prompt their way to Hollywood. Pure AI is free and everyone knows it, therefore like cat videos it's amusing but basically worthless.

@TheJoeySwoll @micheal_ws18 Hey big fan of pull ups! The secret is to start by doing negatives....jump up and lower yourself with control. After a week or two, you should be able to pull your self up. Great for "walk outs"...go for a walk, see a playground, crank out a set, move on.

@micheal_ws18 Hmm so many to choose from? 🤔 I would say one of the most undervalued, underused exercises is pull-ups. I know they're hard to do for many, but once you're able to do them with good form and good slow, controlled reps, I love a good pull-up for back (some bicep) development.

Name one exercise that will forever be the most effective of all time.

@DonalTDeLay I see this new style as Frank distilled. He can do realistic as well as anyone, but at this point, why? He seems to be reducing things to the least # of lines...keeping it simple. This "look" is also identifiable...you know this is Miller...same cannot be said for others.

It’s a shame Better Man didn’t connect with audiences. The choice to portray Robbie Williams as a chimp confused many viewers and hurt the film’s promotion, even though it’s essential to the story it tells. One of the last great movie musicals.

No this is not a satire, it's actually being remade called SINGLE FEMALE This loses an entire level of what the original film was about, the white girl felt safer living with another white girl. You take that out, it just becomes a psycho killer movie.

Real, non contrarian take: Tubi is the best streaming service. It’s free, ads are minimal, and it has some absolutely amazing movies/shows. It doesn’t feed you slop. Some real deep cuts as well as mainstream stuff. Like, I’m watching an old documentary about 90s ska punk rn

Black Sabbath - Born Again with Ian Gillan on vocals. Awful mix aside, I’ve grown to like this album. Trashed, Zero The Hero, Disturbing The Priest especially. My fave non Ozzy/ Dio fronted Sabbath album. What do you think of Born Again?

@Jon_Finkel Pop culture has a 20 year delay...in the 60s they brought back 40's Folk, The 70's had a 50's revival with Happy Days, the 80's was the 60s, 90's brought back the 70s...

it used to be that every older generation had nostalgia for their childhood/college years and you could have a "here's why the 80s were better... or 90s... or 50s... or whatever conversation..." but now everyone over 40 seems to agree that we peaked in about '99-'00 or so in terms of happiness with tech... a nice taste of advances with email and flip phones and even TiVo to skip commercials or getting a flight online (before they made it awful)... but no social media and cameras/tracking everyone and everything... we had some cool stuff, but it wasn't invasive and all encompassing and mostly stupid and didn't bring out the worst in people and companies all day every day
