Kirkman’s win is great.. more readers in stores is a W for all of us. No hate there. But calling skepticism “cope” misses it. Absolute Batman is dominating the charts. Claiming those new fans are also stacking Image books sounds nice. but we almost never see real data past the top 10. Most event hype buyers grab the big DC book and bounce. Shelf space shifts to the winner. That squeezes the rest. Hoping the spillover is real. Any actual numbers or store proof showing the indie bump?

So if they are then why would kirkman be copeing by stating the truth while praising the absolute books? this artificial competition doesn't benefit him

Have you seen the charts? because as far as i'm aware the only times we publicly see the data are if they're in top 10s

I just don't understand how its cope to say its a good thing if it exposes new readers to other comics they probably would never hear of

Image isn't chasing the same superhero pie as the Big Two. But when Kirkman says Batman fans are walking out with a stack of Image books.. it feels like wishful thinking if the buzz is all on the big event books. New readers show up for the hype grab the hot DC title, and dip! and indies still gotta fight for shelf space. Hoping the rising tide is real though. more eyes on comics is a win for everyone fr.

He doesn't represent the company, he represents his own work. He's basically just saying its good cus more independant comic authors financially benefit

rereading the boys comic. It's not the greatest thing in the world but i'm surprised that i've never heard anyone criticise it for how boring it is to read a lot of the time. The barbary coast arc tells what should be an engaging story in the most uninteresting way possible

@KaniRamio37862 @notLexa14 @grauntings while true. its fine to mourn what was. The original plan would've been for overwatch 2 to entirely be a pve roguelike game as its own thing. a lot of work and passion was put into it just to be scrapped

@notLexa14 @grauntings Let's be completely real PVE woulda been popular for like only 2 weeks and then everyone would drop it. Don't pretend like it's gonna be this grand mode that'll actually "revive" overwatch or anything. Stadium is honestly better in the long run objectively.

Playing the new Rivals pve mode makes me sad knowing what Overwatch 2 could have been

@juniesverse The concept of a lore being nothing but set up after set up, repeated theme after repeated theme, same niche of characters after same niche of characters with 0 pay offs = where we are now.

overwatch has so much lore but at the same time it feels like it has no lore what is this phenomenon
