@imagrant1963 She was great and it hurts because she's not here. It's amazing to see all the statements and comments from the community that show how respected and appreciated she was. Please keep her husband and her father in your thoughts.

Jessi Pierce...I have typed a few things and nothing seems to work right now. Just know that we communicated almost every day about sports or her sweet children or something crazy she was doing, like putting ketchup on hot dogs. I can't believe that won't happen again.

The hockey community is truly amazing and instantly took action to ask how they could help support Jessi’s family. Here is a donation link created by the family to help. Thank you so much to everyone for the amazing tributes and support shown. Jessi and her family was so loved 🤍 gofund.me/7cd9f55b7

@TorelloSports @hoyasszn As bad as the TV rights money is in the ACC compared to the SEC and Big Ten and way way way way way better than anything else they could get right now. So unless the Big East is paying at least $45M+ annually to each of them...VCU and Dayton it is!

@hoyasszn I’d welcome Cuse and BC back in a five minute meeting. Cuse would have a revival like UConn Saint Louis if no BC

Big East needs expansion in my opinion, some candidates to add to the Big East: - Syracuse (they need us) - Notre Dame (IND for fball, also need us for basketball) - Saint Louis (great location, great fans, perfect fit) Likely no: Dayton, VCU

@NBond0910 The NIL resources are worlds apart. Providence has a significantly larger NIL budget than Syracuse, which is why he turned that job down. And the Big East just doubled their TV revenue with their next rights deal. Gotta get out the American by any means necessary

I can’t believe @CoachBHodgson would leave for Providence. It’ll happen eventually, but #USF isn’t in the same league figuratively or literally as the Friars

@TKras As I told someone else. Rob is great, but if you have to replace coaches in your major sports every two years, you aren't going to keep batting 1.000. Whatever path they can find to a Power conference, regardless of how odd the fit might seems, they better take it.

This is the world USF is currently in. I have confidence in Rob Higgins. Trust in him.
Sarah Couture@MrsCouture217

@TKras We HAVE to get in a better conference. This is incredibly frustrating between him and Golesh. It will continue to be a revolving door until we get in a better conference and more competitive in NIL.

Just saw the news about @jessi_pierce - absolutely in shock. I had just met her on our last road trip, but we immediately connected. She had this wonderful, vivacious, warm nature about her, even to people she just met like me. Thinking of all her friends and family. Just gutted.

@AbbeyMastracco More recently she and Avery were having a mommy-daughter day which included taking in a Minnesota Frost game and I could the pride in her eyes as Avery was beginning to really love that thing that she loved so much. I just cannot believe this.

Honestly, the Minnesota Wild should be commended for letting Jessi bring Hudson into the locker room. They helped out a working mom, which is the very least they could do, but they helped ease a stigma around working women in sports and working moms everywhere.

Seeing a woman bring her child to work with her at a hockey rink like this was so important. Women with kids have been shunned from this industry, but Jessi was determined to make it work with three. She made it work her own way, and was so happy her kids were able to see that.
Katlyn Gambill@KatlynGambill

One of my favourite memories of working at the Wild will always be Jessi bringing Hudson to the rink & Mikael Granlund becoming besties with him. I was so lucky to call her a close friend. Keep Mike & her family in your thoughts. Rest in peace Jessi, Hudson, Cayden, & Avery. ♥️

I guess I understand the coaching carousel but why wouldn’t anyone want to stay and create a legacy at USF? We have the resources. We have the location. We’ve quite literally seen the whole “if you build it, they will come”.

@ECloskyWTSP @cla51678409 Now I'm not saying USF needs to stoop to that level of ridiculousness (thank you Rob Dyrdek), but it must present something that separates itself from programs in a similar boat. Something that makes the decision makers at those power conference believer that they need USF

@CoreyLong @cla51678409 USF is doing everything they can to get snatched by a P4 conference in the future, but yeah. At a certain point there is only so much USF can do to retain coaches. Other leagues offer more financial opportunities. They have outgrown the American with its resources.

USF is going to be a highly sought after job. The program landed a rising star in Hodgson last year. I expect the same thing this time around. The athletic department is also in great hands ⬇️
Rob Higgins@RHiggins_USF

We were informed by Coach Hodgson that he will be leaving to become the new head men’s basketball coach at Providence. Congratulations and thank you to Coach Hodgson, Jordan and Jett! We had an incredible season, including our second regular season championship in the last three years and our first conference tournament title in the last 36 years. This year’s team earned not one, but two championship banners for the Yuengling Center rafters, and we’re forever grateful to our student-athletes, Coach Hodgson, his family and his staff. Coach said he would come and win championships and he delivered on that promise by leading the most successful season in the history of our program. Rest assured, we did everything within reason to try and retain Coach for the long term. We will always be proactive and aggressive in working to retain high performing coaches, but equally as important, we will also always be the ultimate stewards of our department’s financial resources. Through candid conversations throughout this process, we have been preparing for this possibility in recent weeks. This includes working diligently to put our program in prime position to land the perfect leader to not only build on this special season, but to also help take us to even greater heights in seasons to come. Bulls Nation, I am naturally biased, but we believe the short- and long-term opportunity of leading our men’s basketball program is second to none. The interest associated with this position has already been unprecedented in advance of it officially opening, which speaks to how far our program has come in recent seasons, how well it’s competitively resourced, and where we're going. In short, we could not be more excited about the future of USF Men’s Basketball and can’t wait to keep building together with every one of you! All Gas. No Brakes!!! Go Bulls!!!🤘🏻😤

@ECloskyWTSP @cla51678409 They still have to do a little more on their end to be as appealing as possible for the next shift whenever it comes. As much as we clown UCF for that silly "national championship" stunt. It got attention, it got coverage, it made them appealing to a bigger conference. (con't)

@NancyCarrow @ECloskyWTSP @cla51678409 They've had the right coach plenty of times. The TV money brought in by the American Conference makes it impossible to keep them. Doing this every two years in the revenue-generating sports isn't sustainable. I think Rob is great, but no one bats 1.000.

@ECloskyWTSP @cla51678409 Conference is the key. Yeah it'll be a job a lot of coaches want because they know they can use it to get to the next job they want even more. Finding good coaches isn't easy & then they aren't in a position to retain them because the TV revenue the program receive is a pittance

@cla51678409 In the end, the American is a one-bid league and the Big East is a multi-bid league. Other American programs have to schedule better in NonCon to make sure the conference isn’t at a disadvantage. USF is positioning itself as a P4 school and just have to get into that world.

@SamuelBCohen Thinks Higgins should go Big Game Hunting 👀
Samuel Cohen@SamuelBCohen

@RHiggins_USF is no stranger to big names. I think his first call should be Luke Murray. Do I think he’d leave UConn? No. But he just brought in a highly touted offensive guy who hung around a major program for a very long time in Columbus with Coach Hartline.

@BDrake52184 @laurpicks Well Syracuse is also trying to fund a somewhat competitive football program. Providence doesn't have that issue to deal with. The true moral of this story is get out of the American Conference
