As part of our sustained efforts to eliminate open defecation and improve public sanitation across Lagos State, we currently have 1,710 functioning public toilets strategically located across the state for residents and visitors. However, government cannot do this alone. We are encouraging businesses such as filling stations, banks, eateries, and other public-facing facilities to make their restrooms accessible to the public where possible. This collaborative approach will significantly complement government efforts and expand access to sanitation facilities across the state. At the same time, we continue to enforce environmental sanitation laws. Individuals caught engaging in open defecation are being arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law. These measures are necessary to protect public health, preserve dignity, and maintain a cleaner environment for all. Access to sanitation is a shared responsibility. While government continues to expand infrastructure, residents and businesses must also play their part in ensuring Lagos remains clean, safe, and habitable. #CleanerLagos #GreaterLagos

We didn’t shut down because business was bad. We shut down because one deal went wrong and dragged everything with it. When they started building Shoprite Warri, we saw it as our chance. Big project, steady demand. At first it was smooth cash and carry, no issues. Then one company came in. Ordered three trucks of cement. Paid instantly. No stress. That was how they got our trust. Next time, they asked for credit. Said payment was tied to the project. Sounded legit. We agreed. Supplied again. Then again. Before we knew it, we were even borrowing cement ourselves just to meet their demand. That’s when the story changed. Calls stopped going through. “Next week” became the usual reply. Next week never came. Meanwhile, the people we owed started pressing us. Hard. We went to the site one day. Work was still going on. The same cement we supplied was right there in the building. Our money, literally standing in front of us. But the people that took it? Nowhere to be found. At some point, you stop running a business and start running from problems. We didn’t close because we wanted to. We closed because our money got buried inside a building that wasn’t ours. Till today we still trying to get that money 😭😭

I have series of videos where I advised against renting for shortlet, especially after 2023. Because the business didn’t look sustainable. Best to own the building, so in case of eventualities as we are experiencing now, you can simply rent it out or sell the place and pull out your equity.
