BEWARE: This is what real decentralization looks like (and why it scares people). @THORChain is a real DAO-powered DEX. A place where anyone can swap one crypto asset to any other, anonymously without any limitations or conditions. This is how it actually runs. → ~100 anon nodes run the network → no admin keys → no single party in control Admin controls were removed over a year ago. Since then, the network is fully in the hands of validators. Nodes don’t enforce rules selectively. → they can’t block specific users → they can’t freeze specific transactions → they either run the protocol… or they leave If they don’t like how it’s run, they exit after ~3 days. Anyone can build the website or an app that works as an interface for the DEX. This is what a real decentralized exchange looks like.

I have never, ever, been contacted by a government organisation, law enforcement agency, or even someone representing such an agency asking me info on any swaps that go thru the network, lat alone asking me to take action (how could I tho?) Admin mimir was used over 1000 times during the first 4 years of the protocol to deal with emergencies. It was wired up to bots, covered in documentation and node onboarding. Node mimir replaced it and has been used over 500 times since then. Nothing has been a secret. Admin mimir was permanently removed a year ago. The nodes run the network now. Nodes who don’t like how the network run can leave the network at any time after 3 days. Nodes have no ability to selectively block transactions. Either the entire protocol runs fully or it doesn’t. That is how it has been built and that is how it runs.
