@savage309 I'm looking forward to postmodern C++ where I get to talk about how the language makes me feel.

@hankadusikova That’s something I didn’t think about.
Im not sure if there are significant amounts of places in PSRT where std::vector is a parameter, that I could replace with std::span.

@nice_byte That is something I did take a look at in godbolt and it looked to me that the functions were being directly inlined. I’m not too well versed in assembly programming so I don’t feel comfortable making any statements regarding the call sites.

@timur_audio Do you have DMs or an email address? I tried your old one and it wasn't working.

After reading the 350+ comments from that last article about the the 'final' keyword I feel like I need to clear some things up.

I’m visiting Albany NY for funzies this weekend. Two minutes after driving out of my hotel I saw this logo. I didn’t realize how close I was staying to the CMake devs @Kitware . Can I submit a feature request in person? 😃

@TFautre Taking a loom at fast-math is something I meant to do but never got around to

I measured C++’s ‘final’ keyword to see if it boosted performance or not. Results were unexpected. Read here: 16bpp.net/blog/post/the-…

@kjw_chiu @Peter_shirley I didn’t take a look at the assembly output for this. I thought it was more important to measure rather than guess from assembly output.
English

@DefPriPub @Peter_shirley Did you look at the assembly to see the reasons for the difference? Here is something that I found: godbolt.org/g/ASLk4B. So if this use case is limited, then I wouldn't expect much benefit. More interesting are the cases where the performance went down.

@nmeshofficial I have been listening to Dream Sequins since I found it in 2017. Amazing Album. And with @theneedledrop closing it makes it a masterpiece.
