Set a goal for myself of getting to Master Ball with specifically a snow team that actually uses ice types, cause I used to run hail teams when I last battled in Gen 4/5. It's stupid and inconsequential, but I'm proud of myself. I took these bozos all the way. I love Pokémon :).

@OracionGi Mamoswine once tanked a Sneasler Close combat into Heat Wave on the same turn. Absolute fucking animal, unmissable asset, true champion.

@_Sushishine Will-O-Wisp would solve the Scizor and any Well-Positioned Kingambit problem this team faces almost immediately though, so I'll probably try it out. Good shout!

@_Sushishine MamoMarill is my OTP fr, they carry so hard against a lot of very common Pokémon, they're sick. I think running double Veil/Snow Warning is a symptom of me being bad, but it makes winning weather wars and setting defensives HELLA easy compared to all-or-nothing.

If anything here makes you go "Why?" the answer is pure hatred, just absolute vile tormentous nightmare shit for singular individuals and their choice in Pokémon.

And for my next trick I'm gonna eat tuna until I get mercury poisoning and forever change my and everybody close to me's relationship with fish based recipes.

@novadotjpg Oh same, I haven't online battled since Gen 4, maybe 5? There's a lot of QoL and ease of use in this game that I appreciate and the format is snappy so battles aren't a huge commitment, it's just nice. But with many asterisks attached, sadly. Let's hope it changes over time.

@DevTwoThousand as a new player its been a wonderful starting point for me, but yeah theres so many things where its like why even put a barrier between me and being able to play the game fully

Thus far I really enjoy playing Pokémon Champions, it's so fun, but god, I just cannot let go of the idea that this game is supposed to tear barriers of entry down, and then it puts up new ones with a hopeless gacha system and gating some Pokémon behind full games + DLC. Whoof.

@novadotjpg Genuinely, it's upsetting, the answer is like, yeah they can make these things available later, but why put these walls in place at all, you know? It's frustrating cause the game is so close. It's an almost game.

Good music, the pacing has a few bumps in the road but is overall great and every character sounds exactly like they did in my head, so hte casting is also fantastic. I was genuinely bracing to be happy with much less than this and I really hope I get to say that every week.

I thought Akane Banashi started airing this weekend rather than last, anyway, episode 1 is extremely faithful while reimagining some things to work better in an animated show vs a manga. It's well done! If the entire season keeps up this quality you will never hear me complain.
