@Diplotomodon Which, again, is not to downplay any of this or imply that things should stay business as usual. I’m just saying that we don’t know all the internal details, and I don’t envy anyone trying to figure out how to act on this without causing a ton of collateral damage.

@tylerstoneart Yeah tbh I'd have no idea how to approach this either. But even a public note or something from the sr authors saying "hey, he did a lot of work on this paper and will be retaining authorship but obviously we will no longer be working with him in future" would go a long way.
