Well Lana you may be entitled to your opinions and to express them. No one is disputing that.... But freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences, especially when you are actively participating in and profiting from the very thing you’re criticizing. If you choose to work on a platform, accept income from it, and build your livelihood through it, you are, by definition, a participant in that system. That isn’t a moral judgment, it’s just a factual reality truth be told lol you also must recognize you agreed to a length TOS through a company which states this issue... rightfully so. So when someone publicly condemns a company while continuing to benefit from it, it creates a contradiction. You can’t simultaneously position yourself as opposed to something while relying on it for income. At that point, you are not separate from the system you’re criticizing...you are part of it. Platforms also have the right to decide who they want representing them or associated with their brand. That’s not censorship, that’s basic business. Just like individuals can choose where they work, companies can choose who they platform. If someone truly believes a company is unethical or harmful, the logical stance would be to disengage from it entirely, not continue profiting from it while condemning it publicly. Otherwise, it stops being about principle and starts looking like selective outrage.
