Earlier this week, I broke fast at Rikers Island with New Yorkers in custody, Department of Correction staff, Commissioner Stanley Richards, and Councilmember Yusef Salaam. It was a night that will stay with me for quite some time. People sharing what little they have: breaking bread, offering prayer, making space for one another’s dignity even in the hardest place. In a system too often defined by what it takes, I was reminded of what it means to give—mercy, dignity, and humanity. May we extend that mercy as far as we can. Eid Mubarak to all.

@TarlatanaEli @AbdulPadela I’ve been writing fic for 15 years and I’d be flattered if someone did that – I don’t see it as much different than fanart. Unless you’re saying that they’re trying to pass the entire text off as their own work? Or trying to make money off it?

@AbdulPadela @colorfuleutony It is not a 1:1 simil but my point still stands and it's the disrespect. You would feel uncomfortable if it was something dear to you, as fanfics are dear to their own creators. Is it so difficult to understand why this kind of editing is not welcome?

i'm sorry to be the annoying dev in the qrts but this does nothing. AI scrapers work by getting the HTML from ao3. you can even get it yourself by pressing (F12) on your browser. all the text is copy and pastable there even if you turn selection off for the user interface

@ireverents Just so you know the whole context, this is not of AI scrappers, is because a clueless reader said that they would put fanfiction on GDocs and change the names to read their ships when they are desperate for New Content.
