I’ve broken down many of the “canon breaking” claims of The Acolyte show, and none hold any actual merit. Retcons aren’t outright canon breaking unless they upend established lore. But there is a major canon break that none of the grifters noticed within the first few seconds.

@TatooineSons That’s not true. We had already seen the fall across two trilogies and the redemption in Episode VI, so repeating that theme feels redundant. To me, that’s one of the reasons why the message of this film doesn’t work.

@PallazzoPrieto El problema es que nunca vimos el verdadero desarrollo del mayor plot twist en la historia del cine, introducido como un tonto igual a Yoda. Lucas cambió el rumbo de la historia hacia Dooku y, con ello, se perdió la evolución de esa amenaza original y su influencia sobre Padmé.

@the_senate4292 No, you shouldn’t start with the novels. You should start with the books and ideas that influenced George Lucas, especially works by Carlos Castaneda such as Journey to Ixtlan. Those influences will help you understand Star Wars far better than most tie-in novels ever could.

THE ACOLYTE creator Leslye Headland says she “would still want to do” a Season 2 that would have explored Qimir, Plagueis, and tied into the sequels.
“As more people discover it, I think people may want to see some form of the story come back. We did have a lot of stuff that we wanted to explore- including tying in lore to the sequels. Getting into who exactly Manny [Jacinto]’s character is, his connection with Vernestra, his connection with Plagueis, and then his connection with other sequel-established things.”

@IMAO_ You like it more because it resembles the one from Episode V, but that doesn’t make it better. To me, it’s less expressive, and its interpretation goes against the ideas that define Star Wars, including the influences of Carlos Castaneda and Lucas’ anthropological approach.
