The DHS deal under consideration would fund all of DHS except for ICE's deportation wing, known as ERO (Enforcement & Removal Operations). Those are the frontline ICE agents you see. ICE has two major branches, ERO and HSI (Homeland Security Investigations). HSI typically focuses on human trafficking, sex trafficking, human smuggling etc. though the Trump administration has been using them for immigration enforcement as well. It sounds like HSI would be funded under this deal, but ERO would not. (ERO is funded with OBBB money through 2029, but their civilian support staff are not.) Democrats would not get the major reforms they had been demanding (unmasking, judicial warrants, etc) as part of this deal. Thoughts?

Its important to note the NBPA is not the league. In fact the league is who the NBPA is calling out in this statement for the rules and the way the teams skirt them. The union represents the players not the league or teams or owners.

Just making sure people understand. That Giannis statement is coming from the Players Association. Meaning GA and his reps must have complained. The league hasn't said anything about the Bucks or their plans. This is Giannis led.

My unfortunate suspicion is the Bucks wanting to shut down Giannis is a story because Giannis is upset, which … just make a decision and go with it already, man. But if it’s not there’s a whole lot of teams that should get snarky NBPA statements before the Bucks on this matter.

Of course the Bucks are a target of this rather than the teams that have been openly tanking the entire season

I'm sorry but GA should really just stick to hooping and telling dad jokes. The stuff he does behind the scenes trying to dictate and pressure the org has been a total failure. Meddling into roster/coaching decisions ultimately turned into Doc Rivers and Myles Turner.

It’s insane to me that this is a story. Giannis hyperextended his knee literally 7 days ago. The Bucks season is over and he’s also had calf issues all season. It’s not like the team just made something up to sit him down — Giannis himself said he felt the knee hyperextend!
