Yeah pidgin is from Benin one of the forerunners of Benin our ancestors so used pidgin that in the 60s the yoruba's in the western region council started calling the yet to be created mid-westerners Kobokobo as a slur for the way we speak English... yeah yes It originated from Benin City. Same way Epa is not an edo word but you use it in edo conversation Saba is not an edo word but it's used in edo conversation most times instead of setin... Yeah everyone should speak edo but the way you're going about it is rather discouraging than encouraging.... and yeah Benin had contact with the Portuguese first get a book seat down and read before you start misinterpreting edo history...



I really do pity Bini People because at the rate which Yoruba people are appropriating Bini cultural heritage people may not even know of Bini as a distinct cultural group on a global scale. @Edocentric_ your work plenty sha. May the Force be with you.
