I've seen how this statement by Anne was used regarding show Lestat to say that her vampires lack artistic ability. I’m not familiar with the canon of the books, but this info shouldn’t be used as an argument about the show.

@house_stormborn The show changed this completely by having Lestat invent a new musical genre by inspiring the Wolverine Blues, as if to say this new art form would not exist without vampiric intervention. In the books, vampires would never interfere in the course of human history like that.

@house_stormborn She’s not saying they lack the ability, she’s saying they know it would be WRONG of them to use their inhuman gifts to change the course of art, start a new artistic movement. All development of human art should come from HUMANS, so vampires aren’t ALLOWED to influence it.
