Teacher retention: if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals. This is more important now than ever!

Rules matter—but they’re not the foundation. Focus on rules, and you’ll spend the year enforcing them. Focus on relationships, routines, and expectations—and you’ll actually get to teach.

I ADORE working with the exec teams at Arcadia Vale PS & Wangi Wangi PS! We paused & celebrated their milestones as middle leaders, co-defined coaching, & shaped the AVPS Core Principles/The Wangi Way ❤️. These schools are doing incredible work for their students & teachers!

Today our K-2 team, led by APCI Hannah Bullivant and K-2 AP Danni Peterson, dove into Explicit Teaching of Mathematics. Teachers developed deep pedagogical content knowledge and honed in on LISC, Checking for understanding, and Effective questioning.

Spent two days with the Lake Macquarie West #InstructionalRounds network at Coal Point Public School! We explored problem solving and reasoning, refined our own tasks, and embraced the joy of challenge by tackling problem solving tasks together! ✏️📚💡@Dr_FWalsh
