To substantiate our findings, we collaborated with @PhosphorusFive @CEStieger and @daniel_roderer @FelixSchoepf to obtain mass spectrometry spectra and the first-ever Cryo-EM structure of pyro-and oligo- phosphorylated proteins.

@FiedlerLab I image that might be an insightful follow-up experiment: Is the stability of PP-serine in cell lysate at different pH vales (kinetics by 31P NMR?) inherent to PP-serine or a trait of the enzyme at hand?

Follow up to our discovery of endogenous protein pyrophosphorylation, Arif Celik, a PhD student from our lab, decided to select one of the newly found „pyrophosohoproteins“ and see what effect does this PTM have on protein activity. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…
