Lifelong learning is also about equal access to education. There are adult education courses available in every Finnish municipality. Many courses are also available online. #LifelongLearners

Finland’s first adult education center was founded in 1899. Serving mainly workers, over 90% of its first students came from labor backgrounds, with half having limited formal schooling. Courses included history, economics, health education, physics, and music. #LifelongLearners

What sparks the interest of lifelong learners in Finland? The top choices in adult education are music, handicrafts, languages, sports, visual arts, and dance and theater. #LifelongLearners

600,000 students join adult education courses every year in Finland—that equals more than 10% of our population! Open to everyone, regardless of age or background, these classes total around 2 million hours of learning annually. #LifelongLearners
