Is it really okay if, as a Vtuber, I share my unbridled passion for J-fashion and Idols? I know at least one of these things are popular here, but for some reason I hold back. Maybe it is a fear of what is allowed for me? An internal regulation, not an external one. I told myself when I met you Adventurers that I would unapologetically be myself. So then maybe its okay!

@JubyPhonic_P Make the others too please ๐ I love Hachiware, but would love to see Momonga and Usagi
English

@AstraYonaka Thanks for the insights. There are definitely pros and cons to both corpo and indie routes. Would it be possible for you to talk about the cons of being corpo... ๐ no pressure either way, just curious!
English

It seems like a lot of people have taken interest in this! So I'll use my MBA knowledge to talk about the hidden advantages of being in a vtuber corpo (from my own experience)!!
1. The Agglomeration Effect
Put simply, this is where something is more likely to sell when there is a higher density of "competitors" in close proximity to eachother (usually this refers to cost advantage but ill get to that). If you put one vending machine at a rest stop, some people might go shop at it. But if you put a bunch of them there, it will attract more people and some of them might also buy extra snacks/drinks while they're there. In terms of streaming, it's a great way to grow together symbiotically.
2. Skillshare
I think this is the most underrated advantage. Being around people who are seriously pursuing this helps you sharpen your skills and can give you motivation to do so. When I started, I was AWFUL at a lot of things, but I've improved a lot over time thanks to the advice of my friends :> (Note: this can also be found in vtuber groups too so those are also fantastic!)
3. Scale
The entire purpose of the agency is to act as "leverage" or a multiplier to your output. Some of this is in the form of management services to reduce your administrative load and others in agency wide shared resources/projects. These agency wide resources and projects can also sometimes reduce your expenses!
4. Easier Networking (Introvert Edition)
I hate networking ngl. It kinda sucks and for that reason I don't really do it. I just do what I do and if people appear then fantastic! BUT sometimes you need help networking for something like planning events etc. and they got your back with this.
5. Risk Mitigation
I love to run my mouth. So sometimes before I do I check with my manager and he's like "Nooooo you probably shouldn't do that." and then I'm like "okayyyyy but just this once?" and he's like "noooo." This dynamic helps keep you out of trouble hahahaha
These are just some that came to mind! There are others but this will get way too long. Keep in mind, corpo isn't for everyone and being indie will suit some people's workflow/lifestyle better. Not to mention, there is no guarantee whether you are corpo or indie and both are perfectly valid ways to go about it. Each have their strategic strengths/weaknesses.

Just wanted to say as someone who has worked with many companies in many different industries, Lucid is the most ethically run company I have ever been involved with. I highly recommend it!! being a vtuber here is like being a free range chicken thats allowed to eat your own eggs (viewers)!
English

@limonletta People create such intricate custom charas in that game, it's impressive
English

@lyrratic Same, chronic illness sucks ๐ข I started strength training because it helps my body stay functioning but it doesn't help stuff like IBS
English

@RitaKamishiro That's good to know. Do you have to run everything through a manager?
English

@FroggieSinger I feel like I have pretty much free reign on what I can do!
Obviously, an agency wouldn't allow you to be, like, problematic and a terrible person hahaha but I don't think we have restrictions on things like IRL content, NSFW content, etc. that are less traditionally "vtuber".
English

@hampotato1 @lilpdono Exciting! Is this like a tour group you're part of?
English

#HoYoFairConcert is kicking off again in the US!! โจ
