➡️Contrary to claims originating from Hamas and circulating by parties with vested interests who are attempting to manufacture a catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip, Israel is not arbitrarily blocking aid into Gaza. ➡️Due to the missile threat in the current conflict, a national state of emergency has been declared, imposing strict civil defense measures across Israel, including closures and restrictions on public activity. This includes, among other things, the closing of crossings to the Gaza Strip and in Judea and Samaria, since they cannot be operated safely. Opening the crossings under fire puts lives at risk, both personnel on the Israeli side and on the Gazan side. ➡️The crossings will reopen as soon as the security situation allows. ➡️It is important to emphasize: this temporary measure does not impact the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Since the beginning of the ceasefire, tens of thousands of aid trucks have entered Gaza, amounting to quantities equal to four times the population’s nutritional needs, according to UN methodology. Existing stockpiles inside Gaza are expected to suffice for a while. ➡️COGAT will continue to maintain continuous coordination with the international community and provide updates as developments unfold.

➡️Organizations that refused to complete the registration process were formally notified to cease operations by February 28, 2026. ➡️Contrary to the campaign being waged against Israel and attempts to create a false impression of harm to the humanitarian effort in the Gaza Strip, the facts on the ground, corroborated by the CMCC mechanism, clearly demonstrate a significant, stable, and continuous flow of aid. ➡️Each day, between 600 and 800 aid trucks enter the Gaza Strip, facilitated through the UN, donor states, the private sector, and more than 20 international organizations operating lawfully and in full coordination with Israel. ➡️The scope of aid is not dependent on organizations that chose not to complete the registration process, and their contribution in the past accounted for only one percent of the total aid entering the Strip. Accordingly, there is no harm to the humanitarian effort and no change in the volume of aid entering Gaza. Moreover, Israel continues to allow and facilitate the entry of hundreds of international humanitarian workers into Gaza on behalf of the UN, the Red Cross, and approved international organizations. ➡️The organizations that have not completed the registration process, were given an extended period of approximately one year to regularize their registration, including an extension granted in September 2025. Despite this, they chose not to cooperate and failed to submit the required information, foremost among it employee lists for prior security screening. This is a basic and transparent requirement intended to prevent the exploitation of the aid mechanism by Hamas, a phenomenon previously documented and involving diversion of aid, the use of local employees for terrorist purposes, and the transfer of funds to entities affiliated with the terrorist organization. ➡️The continued refusal to act transparently is neither technical nor incidental and raises serious concerns regarding the actors with whom these organizations operate in the Gaza Strip. Israel will continue to allow and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid in significant volumes, but will not permit the infiltration of terrorist elements into the aid mechanism and will not forgo security oversight mechanisms designed to ensure that aid reaches the civilian population and not Hamas.
