We are seven months away from the most consequential midterm election in the history of the United States. Meanwhile, we are fighting a war. These are the structural conditions for a coup attempt in which a president tries to nullify elections and take permanent power as a dictator. If we see this, we can stop it, overcome the movement that brought us to this point, and make a turn towards something better. snyder.substack.com/p/the-next-cou…

TWO STATEMENTS BY TRUMP 7 MINUTES APART: Trump at 9:00: "Regime change was not our goal. We don't want that" Trump at 9:07: "Regime change is what we want. It is needed" These statements were made 7 minutes apart in the same speech

He’s going to attempt a coup. 2020 was the testing ground. After our government’s incompetence in holding him accountable the first time, they emboldened him to do it again. Our institutions are weakened, the military is being purged, our people are divided, our news is full of falsehoods, congress is defanged and the ultra rich are backing him with seemingly unlimited money. The ingredients for a coup are all present.
William Buecker@wcbuecker

I can say with great certainty that the people that are downplaying Trump’s purge of the military have never read a history book

Pam Bondi’s portrait was taken down at DOJ and tossed in a trash bin soon after her firing. MS NOW obtained the photo. The move reflects how deeply unpopular she was among career officials. @KDilanianMSNOW & @CarolLeonnig scoop ms.now/news/pam-bondi…

@DuBoseDefense My friend got out of a DUI because they had him do it on uneven ground and mistook a Tylenol for a painkiller, which they referred to in their report as an oxycontin. Incompetence cost them an easy win because he was definitely drunk lol.

Oh boy do we have a lot to discuss. I’ve represented about 100 people charged with DWI. 78% of those cases have been dismissed. Tiger in this video is among the least intoxicated I’ve seen on a body cam. He’s cogent and responsive. The officer administering the HGN has no idea what she’s doing. Violates every rule in the NHTSA manual. He also does not appear to be slurring his words.
Overton@overton_news

🚨 BREAKING: Martin County Sheriff’s Office just released the full bodycam footage from Tiger Woods’ latest crash. Woods failed the field sobriety test and was found with two prescription hydrocodone pills in his pocket. OFFICER: “How much have you had to drink today?” WOODS: “None.” OFFICER: “And do you take any medication?” WOODS: “Uhh...I take a few, yes.” He was arrested for driving under the influence on the spot. Woods has entered a plea of not guilty.
